How to prevent icons from being created on the home screen (Android)

For some users it is a useful function for mobile phones, for others it is unnecessary, we are talking about the icons that are automatically added to your Android home screen when you install an application. If you are one of those who like to have everything in view and with quick access, without a doubt keeping this feature enabled will be important for you, but if on the contrary you think that it should not be like that and that only you like master and lord of your device You have the right to choose what should be on your screen and what not, because you are on my side.

In the following lines of this post we will see how to remove this upset feature of the Play Store that is enabled by default and that can be irritating if you have your icons and widgets organized in a pleasant way for you and others to see.

But first ... When are icons not created on the screen?

  • If you update an application that you already installed before.
  • If you install an application outside of Google Play, for example an APK file that you downloaded from a third party website.
So, the icons are added when you install a new application.

Prevent shortcuts on Android

1. Take your cell phone, access the applications menu and open Play Store, click on the icon indicated in the following screenshot to go to the store settings.
2. Go to the configuration menu, in these general settings that will appear, look for the feature «Add icon to main screen«, By default it will be checked, so just uncheck that box to disable that function.
3. Voilà!
If you change your mind and want to create new application icons on your screen, all you have to do is follow the same steps and re-enable the box.
I hope this basic but useful tip has been of your interest, soon more tips and tutorials to optimize our Android device 😉
