If you are a detailed user with what happens on your system, you will have noticed that in Windows, particularly in the XP version, there is a process in execution called «alg.exe«. So the question we ask ourselves is what is it? What is it for? Well, it is something simple and necessary (sometimes) at the same time, let's see:
alg.exe It is a file or process of the operating system (Windows) that has the basic function of establishing the connection of the Firewall that integrates the operating system itself with the Internet, that is, it is responsible for the optimal functioning of our Firewall for when we are connected to the network .
alg.exe is located in the folder System32 system (C: WINDOWSsystem32), if it is not in that directory then we will have to worry because it may be a Virus or Spyware.
Now something important to take into account is that if we do not have an internet connection and we do not use the Windows Firewall, it is advisable to end with alg.exe as it is consuming resources that are always valuable. If you can't finish it with your own Window Task Managers you can use System Explorer as an alternative, which is more complete and will also give you the possibility of deactivating it at system startup. If you want the latter, go to the Services label and locate there Application layer gateway service, then right click> Start type > Disabled. With this your computer will have a higher performance.
My friends, the more we know our system in detail, our experience as a user will be more rewarding. Tell us, is alg.exe useful for you? ...
