Darkest Dungeon - gather, train and lead a team of heroes, each with their own flaws. The team must be led through spooky forests, deserted reserves, collapsed crypts and other dangerous locations. Not only will you have to fight against unthinkable enemies, but also against stress, hunger, diseases and impenetrable darkness. This is how the Squealer is defeated.

squealer it's quite an original boss - it can't be found the "normal way" by traversing a dungeon, nor is it one of the wandering bosses. Instead, you can fight him in one of two events: Thief in the Night or Scream Prize. When you activate one of these events, a new quest will appear in Wales. If you activate it and send a team to it, it will immediately start a fight with the aforementioned Screamer. For this reason, it is not recommended to carry items that cannot be used in combat, such as bone keys or food. Torches don't make much sense either, because the matchup starts at the maximum light level and won't go down during the battle (unless you lower it yourself).

How can I defeat the Squealer in Darkest Dungeon?

When facing a Stoner, only net damage counts. The combat is limited in time: the opponent will flee at the end of the fourth round. Therefore, it is not recommended to use stagger damage characters (Bleeding or Blight), but those that deal high “instant” damage. It's also a good idea to stock up on Blight to increase accuracy and if possible damage. Aim is crucial here, as the enemy has an absurdly high evasion rate - the "strongest version" of him has a whopping 62,5 points, meaning most of each character's attacks will simply miss. The aforementioned accuracy-boosting flashes, as well as the Armed, Team ability (+11-15 accuracy for the entire team) should solve Stoner's evasion problem.

The combat itself isn't too difficult: your goal is simply to deal damage to the enemy, ignoring their attacks. The enemy is unlikely to drop any of your characters to 0 health, as most of his attacks, except for Peck, deal very low damage. However, it doesn't hurt to keep an eye on your teammates' health: if the enemy is harassing one of your characters and constantly treating them with Pek, it's worth using a defensive ability (such as the aforementioned Armor) to protect the character from attacks. . On the other hand, numerous bandages and holy water will help deal with the bleeding that the enemy can easily inflict.

There are a few things to keep in mind when setting up a fight with a Stoner and/or during the fight itself. Among them are:

    • Don't use abilities that impose different effects - both targets are immune to Poison's effect, and even a low immunity factor to Bloodstone Mason won't make much of a difference, as the entire encounter will end after 4 rounds.
    • The same goes for abilities that weaken, stun, and force the enemy to move. Combat is time limited, so there's no point wasting time on those skills, it's better to focus on dealing as much damage as possible.
    • Character accuracy is crucial here, as the enemy will have 40, 40,75, or 62,5 evasion points, depending on the difficulty level of the mission. Therefore, equipping your team with aiming flares is a must. A Gunsmith is also worth having on your team - his command ability will give the entire team 11-15 points of accuracy.
    • The marking of crossbowmen and occultists here is very effective. First of all, they increase the damage dealt by a significant part of the abilities, and in addition, they reduce the opponent's evasion, allowing the entire team to hit Stoner without problems. Marks on other characters, however, aren't as effective, as they don't reduce the opponent's evasion.
    • There's no point in bringing items on a mission that can't be used in combat. These are mainly bone and food keys, and torches – the latter are useless, as the light level doesn't drop during the encounter.

That's all you need to know about how to beat the Squealer in the darkest dungeon.
