Darkest Dungeon - gather, train and lead a team of heroes, each with their own flaws. The team must be led through spooky forests, deserted reserves, collapsed crypts and other dangerous locations. Not only will you have to fight against unthinkable enemies, but also against stress, hunger, diseases and impenetrable darkness. This is how the Bandit Wulf is defeated.

The Bandit Wulf. – The second boss associated with the event. He cannot be found in "normal form" while he is traversing the dungeon, nor is he one of the wandering bosses. Instead, you can fight him in the Invasion of the Brigantes event. Once the event is activated, a new quest will appear on the map. By activating it and sending your team there, you will have a short but quite difficult underground world to go through, which will end with a battle against the aforementioned enemy.

How to defeat the bandit Vwulf in Darkest Dungeon?

When you go through a fairly short underground passage and reach the boss, you will notice that he will be fighting in the company of a barrel bomb. There is no point in concentrating on this barrel as it will respawn once destroyed. It is also equipped with the Riposte function: each attack directed against the cannon will deal damage to your character. There are three things you should focus on during a match

    • Eliminating the helpers summoned by the outlaw Wulf. They are not very strong, but they will move the opponent to second or third position, preventing some heroes from reaching the main objective. Also, the enemy can use Tower Shield on the summoned creature, increasing its Defense. Characters that can deal rank 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 damage at the same time will come in handy here: Abomination, Goblin, and Harlequin are great for this. With these attacks, you will be able to hurt both the summoned enemies and the boss itself at the same time.
    • Avoid or reduce damage from pumps. When an enemy uses the "Distance Bombs" skill, a bomb will appear under the feet of one of your characters. This attack is always made at the beginning of the round. At the end of the round, the enemy activates the "Time's Up!" command, which causes the bomb to explode, dealing massive damage. This attack can be stopped by destroying the bomb barrel or, more effectively, by shielding a character that has been marked. This is where the Armorer comes in handy with his Defender ability - it will shield the target from taking damage, and increasing his Defense will make him take much less damage.
    • Constantly attacking the boss. You must constantly chase the bandit Wulf with your attacks, because he will endlessly summon his helpers and spread bombs all over the battlefield.

There are a few things to keep in mind when preparing for a match with a smoker and/or during the match itself. Among them are:

    • There is no point in using displacement-inducing abilities: the opponent is invulnerable to this effect (300% resistance).
    • Bleeding and blinding work well here. The enemy has a fairly low resistance to both of these effects (75%), and moving it twice each round increases the damage it takes.
    • Don't use debuff abilities - the enemy does relatively little damage, and the most damage is done by the "Time's Up!" skill, which in turn is done by the bomb cannon, not the boss itself.
    • Stun is also effective here. Enemies perform two actions per round (not counting the ones that can't be stopped: "Bombs Out" and "Time's Up!"), and their effectiveness is halved when stunned.
    • A character that can protect others (such as a hunter or gunsmith) is key here. Thanks to them you can reduce the damage of bombs to almost zero. You should use the Gunslinger in this role though – the Defender ability also increases his defense by reducing bomb damage, while the Hunter gets “only” evasion. If the hunter is hit by a bomb, he will take full damage.
    • Try to destroy the regularly summoned creatures. Heroes that can attack at rank 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 at the same time are useful for this. Mainly Leper, Abomination and Harlequin.

That's all you need to know about how to defeat Bandit Wulf in the darkest dungeon.
