The Fossil Digger was used in a dig near the Deep Purple Fumes. It is a large machine, placed between two rails, which the architects used to excavate underwater fossils. The bulldozer emits a sonar pulse that picks up objects on the ground. Once the excavator finds a fossil underground, it can use the laser to break up rock formations and locate the fossil. Head south from where the capsule fell to reach Delta Island. Once at the Delta Station lighthouse, players need to turn east and head to the deep purple vents. Players must then walk about 550 meters east of the Delta Station Lighthouse to reach the Mercury-2 engine. Jump straight down from the Mercury-2 booster to find the deep purple vents. Next to the purple vents is a tunnel at the bottom of the cave. Follow the tunnel to the end, where players will finally enter the Fossil Excavator.
