How to have an affair with Kelly Chambers in Mass Effect Legendary Edition

How to have an affair with Kelly Chambers in Mass Effect Legendary Edition

Petty Officer Kelly Chambers is a new member of the Cerberus Normandy team. Shepard may show interest in her, but they will both have to survive the mission.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition has just been released, allowing players to play through the entire classic sci-fi RPG trilogy. There are some changes, like the removal of multiplayer and the possibility of a new level system. However, with the inclusion of most of the old DLC, players will be able to relive all the exciting moments from the series.

The Mass Effect trilogy is well known for its romance variants. Each match has its own cast, and players can continue a relationship for multiple matches. Others may not be faithful and cheat over and over again. Among the members of Cerberus is Petty Officer Kelly Chambers, an attractive recruit from the Normandy. Being in love with her may be the hardest thing, but that doesn't rule out other options.

An adventure with Kelly Chambers in Mass Effect 2

Kelly is a romantic choice for both male and female Shepards. The mechanics of her romance are unique in that she does not interfere or get in the way of finding other lovers, including old friends like Liara, Kaidan, and Ashley. However, she requires Shepard to be single and available after completing the Suicide quest. Players will first meet Petty Officer Kelly Chambers after boarding the Normandy. The flirting should begin immediately. When you meet her, tell her that you will make sure to stop the Collectors. She will reply that she trusts you to catch her. She replies, "I'll give you a hug."

The next time you strike up a conversation with Kelly, open it with a "I liked it." All other options will kill the romance in the bud. Players will then have to complete recruitment tasks for various characters: Grunt, Garrus, Samara, and Thane. The first two can be completed before the Horizon game pause, while the last two can be completed after. Also note that Grunt needs to be freed from the tank to start talking to Kelly. After completing each task, he talks to Kelly again to get her opinion of the new person. Answer by selecting the following options:

    • Soil Recruitment Mission: "I Will Protect You"
    • Garrus Recruitment Mission: "I Could Use It"
    • Tan's Recruitment Mission: "Probably Both"
    • Samara's recruiting mission: "You are prettier."

For players who have imported a relationship with Ashley or Kaidan, after completing the Horizon Colony, convince Kelly that Shepard is still interested in her. After leaving the Collector Ship mission, he talks to Kelly again. Answer him with “are you worried? Do you mind?" followed by "And what about me?" to get a hug. While not all of these cutscenes are required, if enough are seen, players can invite Kelly to dinner. This will allow Kelly to automatically feed Shepard's fish, and will also trigger her eventual future in Mass Effect 3. However, the rest of the novel will only end if Kelly survives the collector's base.

The rescue of Kelly Chambers in Mass Effect 2

The romantic subplot with Kelly is one of the few that can only end after the suicide mission. However, as Kelly may die at this critical time, players will need to take some action ahead of time.

Specialists ready and Normandy

Players will have to ensure the loyalty of crew members who do not play vital roles during the suicide mission. The main candidates are either Mordin or Thane, both of whom have no major quests during the final objective. Other possible options are Tali or Kasumi, since they have identical functions; and Jack, who performs the same functions as Samara and Mornith, but is less defensive against the Collectors' final onslaught. Garrus, Zayed, and Grunt are poor options, as all three are the best defenders against Collectors. Miranda is excluded from the list of possible opponents, as she always accompanies Shepard to the final battle.

While not required, it's a good idea to get all three Normandy ship upgrades: Garrus's Tannix Cannon, Jacob's Heavy Armor, and Tali's Kinetic Barriers. These will cost the palladium and platinum mined from the worlds. Without them, characters like Jack, Tan, Kasumi, and Garrus may die before the quest begins.

All of this must be done before heading to the Reaper's MFS and recruiting the Watch Dogs: Legion -. Players will then have a short time to complete 1-3 missions. They can be side quests, loyalty quests, and old DLC content. The most interesting quests are the Watch Dogs: Legion Loyalty Quest – or Tali's Recruitment Quest. This period of freedom will be followed by the scene of the kidnapping of most of the crew of the Normandy by the Collectors. At this point, players must immediately go to the Omega 4 relay and the Collectors' base, or Kelly will be killed.

At the base of the Collectors.

If the Collector's base has been reached in time, a cutscene will be shown where colonist Lilith is liquefied. If too much time has passed, she will be shown dying instead of Kelly (other crew members, such as Gabby, will also die). If Kelly survives, be sure to tell her that you came here on purpose to save her (harder options could end the affair). The crew will then request an escort back to the ship. At this point, assign this task to a loyal non-critical crew member (like Mordin or Jack). Without an escort, the entire crew, including Kelly, will die trying to get back. Players can also provide a rogue escort that will still rescue Kelly, but kill the chosen crew member.

Return to Normandy

After successfully completing the suicide mission, players can talk to Kelly Chambers on the ship. She will be shocked to have survived such a terrible event and she needs reassurance that all will be well. After that, head to Shepherd's quarters. If Shepard hasn't started a new relationship (or left his last lover), Kelly will send an email saying that she's ready to be alone. She uses the console in the next room to summon Kelly at any time to complete the romance subplot.

Players can continue to summon Kelly whenever they want, and can even continue to flirt with other lovers. While all of this sounds like fun in Mass Effect 2, in Mass Effect 3 there are potential consequences for a lover who loves twice.
