How to Play Cooperative Matches in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team
FIFA 21 is the first edition that allows players to play cooperative competitive matches in Ultimate Team, the most popular mode in the game.
You can now team up with a friend in FUT Division Rivals, Squad Battles and Friendlies matches. With these changes, cooperative play has become an important part of FIFA 21 Ultimate Team. You and your friend can play to earn FUT Champions Ranking Points and complete tasks together, such as unlocking FUT Packs or special players. Although co-op play is available for next-gen consoles, FIFA 21 Ultimate Team does not yet feature cross-play, which means you and your friend must play online using the same console model.
Here's what you need to know to start playing co-op matches in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team.

- Go to the FIFA 21 Ultimate Team home menu and press RT (Xbox controller) or R2 (PlayStation controller) to open a new “Friends” widget. From there, you can select a friend to play and they will go directly to the co-op lobby.

- Whoever creates the lobby will become the captain of the cooperative game mode. The captain controls which of his squads will be used in the match and in which mode it will be played.
Once you are in the FIFA 21 Ultimate Team co-op lobby, you will be able to select the following game modes:
FUT Friendly Matches
The only mode that has no match limit. Team up with a friend and play against an unknown opponent through the matchmaking system. You can choose from seven different match types: Classic, Mystery Ball, Trade, King of the Mountain, Ultimate Chemistry, Goals & Volleys, Survival, Long Distance, and No Rules.
Division rivals.
If you choose to play with a friend in a Rivals match, both players use one of the 30 weekly matches. This game mode is used to earn qualification points for FUT Champions, also known as the Weekend League. Match selection will be based on the higher of your two skill scores, but the rewards will be similar to what you would earn playing solo.
If a player has no matches left in the weekly allocation, neither player will be able to earn Division Rivals points. However, you will still be able to play and complete tasks and earn FUT Coins and FUT Champions Ranking Points.
team battles
This is probably the least challenging game mode in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team as you will be playing against the artificial intelligence. But team battles are still useful for coins, weekly rewards, and tasks. The lobby captain chooses the squad against which both players will play, and the match counts as one of the 40 weekly matches for which points must be earned.
