If you've seen the other four Nier Replicant endings, then you're ready to accept ending E and its new surprises. If you want to see the new Nier Replicant through to the end, you're in for a treat with the new Ending E. This add-on wasn't in the original version of Nier, and there's a lot of new content to enjoy. Ending E is the fifth and final conclusion to Nier Replicant, but you'll need to see the other parts of the story first and complete a few extra steps. How to get the ending E
Ending E is your last playthrough of the Nier story to bring it to an end. You'll need to complete ending D first before you have a chance to take on ending E. We've covered how to get endings A through D in another guide. This will require multiple playthroughs and make sure you pick up all the weapons. in Nier Replicant.
As we mentioned in the complete guide to endings, you will begin your journey in ending E by creating a new save file. You cannot use the same name that you used during the D completion step, which has been removed. If you choose something different and start a new game, you will continue the story again as Nier's little brother. Everything on your new run will be the same for a while, so feel free to skip cutscenes. When you get to the Nest for the second time and fight Hook, the E ending begins. Everything starts to go off track once you finally kill Hook, which only gives you a couple of hours of extra gameplay. You won't finish the game until the end of the first half or you'll be immersed in the second half of the game. Once you complete Ending E and watch everything, your save data from Ending D will be automatically restored. You don't need to do anything else in particular.
How to play as Kane
As soon as you see the cutscene in Groen during game E, you will automatically switch from Nier's little brother to Kane. Tell the story of all your encounters, but keep in mind that your time as Kane is limited. Once you complete ending E, the data on ending D will be restored and replace the file it is in. Be sure to save another slot for the E ending in Aerie as Nier's brother, in case you want to come back to this later.
How to get Cain's weapon
Once you've replayed your save slot for the D ending, head back to Cain's house as Nir. Examine the glowing item in the corner and you will be rewarded with the Sword of Cain. He has a massive attack power of 999 and his own weapon history, just like the items in front of him. And that's all there is to know to get the ending E in NieR Replicant.
