Outriders – How do the forces of the state work?

This guide will tell Outriders step by step how status powers work, to get the answer to the question – read on.

Outriders have many passive attributes that benefit players in the heat of battle, including a status power that enhances players' status effects. In Outriders, players can upgrade their abilities and passive skills, known as attributes, to suit their ideal playstyle. One attribute, Status Power, increases the potency of a player's status effects, such as Burn, Freeze, and Weakness.

There are many attributes that players can change to improve their game in Outriders. Some can buff weapon damage, increase armor, and heal players when they deal damage with Leeching.

How Status Powers Work in Outriders

Strength status simply enhances all Outriders status effects for the player. Obviously, certain classes are better at marking enemies with certain status effects, so the power status buff may not always be that important, depending on the player's class and build.

Players can view their status power by opening the stat list on their inventory page. Just below Anomaly Power, players will be able to see his status strength as a percentage, showing that his status effects are much more effective.

Outriders have three types of status effects: crowd control, damage, and debuffs. Crowd control and debuff effects are boosted in the same way, but damage effects affect the player's status power slightly differently.

How status power affects crowd control and debuff effects

For the two crowd control effects, Freeze and Ash, and the two debuffs, Vulnerability and Weakness, increasing status power will increase the duration of these effects. Since status power is expressed as a percentage, each effect will be increased by the base duration multiplied by that percentage. In other words, enemies that are frozen, covered in ash, vulnerable, or weakened by players will be under these effects for longer.

Players should remember that status power has no effect on slow status effects. The duration of the slow is determined by the ability or mod that applies it to the enemy, and the amount of the enemy's slow is determined by its resistance to the effects. This makes status power slightly less important for cheaters who use a lot of slow abilities.

How status power affects damage effects

Status power increases the damage dealt by all three damage effects: Burn, Bleed, and Toxic. Each damage effect deals damage every 0,5 seconds, so increasing the status power of these effects can significantly increase the total damage dealt to the enemy. The damage will increase by the percentage of the player's status power. The Pestilence Technomancer will greatly benefit from increased status strength, as it will significantly increase the damage it deals with abilities like infected rounds.

How to increase status power

To improve status power, players will need to find gear that has a status power attribute gain. Unusual (green) gear always has an attribute boost - rarer items have more boosts - which can be found in the weapon or armor stat block.

Outriders players will benefit from the Status Power attribute buff on an armor piece if they are equipped with that armor. However, when it comes to weapons, players will only benefit from Status Power increases if they are armed and holding a weapon with the appropriate attribute increases. This means that the characteristics of the players' attributes will change based on the weapon they currently have.

Outriders is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. And that's all there is to know about how the forces of the state work in Outriders.
