And again the scammers are present in Facebook, this time with a fake public event called "Play RESIDENT EVIL en face *”; with a striking and attractive title as is characteristic of this type of deception.
The invitation to this event I just received recently (maybe you too), and as in VidaBytes we are always attentive to warn about the informatic security and collaborate with the readers, is that we will talk a little about it. Well then let's analyze the false event.
Play RESIDENT EVIL en face *is an event that supposedly promises its attending followers, power play the popular game Resident Evil on Facebook. As it is a good game that many of us like, since there have been more than 125 thousand users who have already confirmed their attendance and other thousands / millions still to be confirmed (the number increases every day).
If we go into details, we will see that the event has been created by 'at first I didn't understand Facebook— and now they don't take me out of there haha'. Entering that page, we realize from the majority of the comments (if not all), that the users have realized the deception and have expressed their opinion (anger) about the event, in the following screenshot we can clearly appreciate it.
Now, the steps to "be able to play Resident Evil en face" consist of first confirming attendance, then inviting ALL (as they say) our friends and finally entering a new page.
In this new page (where there is no information or anything about the game, except the title) the user gives a 'Like' and a last step where they actually have to click on more 'Like' buttons. After all that, you will notice that such a game does not exist, it is simply a fan page.
So you may wonder, what do the creators of the fake event gain from this? If there is no downloads or any malware infection in general. Well, very simple, as they have already got millions of fans for a page on Facebook, they can sell it at a very good price, it is a round business with many profits and without much effort; using the naivety of some users of course.
So dear readers, as you will see it is only a matter of common sense to understand that these types of applications are false, we have already seen it previously with others such as'Secure your Facebook account to avoid being deleted on November 5'which we have already analyzed.
