The Plumbus is one of the most enigmatic devices to have been introduced in the Rick and Morty series. Thanks to the user manual, here's what we know about its capabilities.

The Plumbus is one of Rick and Morty's weirdest unexplained inventions. The animated series spends a lot of time on the various devices created by Rick Sanchez, and viewers mostly understand them, but Plumbus continues to confuse viewers about their purpose. This is especially true since Rick and Morty say that the device is so common and well-known that there is no point in explaining it.

Fortunately, some additions to the second season of Rick and Morty on DVD have helped explain what Plumbus is really capable of. As shown in the latest Playsector video, the Plumbus user manual gives us a lot of details about using Plumbus, and they are quite extensive, to say the least. It can double when placed next to a reflective surface, and it also has the ability to cook, clean, and play music. The device also has an aerial mode and can climb stairs, but it is clearly stated that it cannot be used for pleasure.

With all of these various functions that the Plumbus performs, there are some additional features that they carry. For starters, they're made of organic tissue in one way or another, they can transmit radio waves and create heat. With all of these capabilities, a Plumbus could serve the same purpose as a microwave oven, only unlike any microwave oven we've ever seen. There is also the possibility that all of this gives Plumbus the same abilities as a normal iron, but in a highly evolved space version of the device.

As you can see, Plumbus can do much, much more than any ordinary household item. All of these capabilities are only hinted at in the user manual, but are quite believable, given the source. Given Rick and Morty's "everybody knows what Plumbus can do" stance, it's more likely that the series will continue to avoid showing the actual use of Plumbus. But with several new seasons of Rick and Morty on the way, there's a chance the series will surprise viewers in a different way and really showcase Plumbus' capabilities.
