Rust - How does tracing work after being downed/disabled?

How does tracking work?

After lately it is becoming more and more common in multiplayer games.

Rust will now allow you to crawl after being knocked down/disabled as part of the July 2021 update. You will be able to crawl out of harm's way when knocked down by other players and animals, but you will be classic incapacitated if knocked down from a fall.

While crawling, players will be able to open doors and obviously move around, but no more than that. While crawling, you will also revert to the old method of immobilization, i.e. you will get stuck on your back if you get into very deep water or a player starts mugging you.

You'll also be more likely to pull yourself up while crawling, compared to lying on your back. The chance of getting up crawling is 20% (1 in 5) and lying on your back is 10% (1 in 10).

However, this now also depends on the level of food and water before falling: the more you have eaten and drunk, the higher the percentage, up to 25% increased chance. This means that if you have full hunger and thirst levels and crawl, you will have a 45% chance of getting up.

The crawl upgrade also makes good use of the Large Medkit item, which isn't often used by many players. If you don't have any luck with percentages, the Grand Apothecary will automatically pick you up as you crawl, but only if it's on your belt (the legplate at the bottom of the screen). Keep in mind that with a first aid kit you do not get health, but resuscitation. Large Medkits are created with 2 Medicine Syringes and 50 Low Grade Fuel.

It will be interesting to see if more players will use this item during PVP raids/encounters as a result of this update, which will also include new voice accessory DLC for max teasing.
