How to Catch the Top 10 Fish in Stardew Valley
Fishing in Stardew Valley requires patience, but it usually pays off. This is especially true when you manage to catch these extraordinary fish.
10. Catfish
Catfish are one of the highest performing fish in the game. Its standard price is 200 g, and if it is a gold category fish, it can reach 300 g. The best thing is how easy it is to find it. It may not be the easiest fish to catch, depending on the rod the player has, but catfish are as plentiful as turnips in the spring.
Catfish are found in rivers, ponds, or swamps and are only fished during the spring and fall. Luckily, it's available at all hours of the day, even if it's supposed to rain, perfect for single players who put all their energy into taking care of their farm and animals!
9. Super Cucumber
If sea cucumber isn't good enough, super cucumber is. And, given the difference in price, all anglers are dying to get their hands on such a cucumber! A standard sea cucumber can be worth about 75 g, while a super cucumber, at its standard price, can be worth 250 g.
However, the price difference is not without its drawbacks. The super cucumber can only be caught in the ocean in the summer or fall. It doesn't matter if it rains or not, but the moment of fishing is really important and also a bit annoying. The player can only fish between 6 PM and 2 AM, which makes it a bit of a rush to get home before passing out. However, this means that the player can do their daily chores before the night fishing.
8. Ice Pike
Catching this ice pike can be quite difficult at first. It is only found in the mine at level 60 and the player must be a level 5 fisherman to stand a chance, even then it is very difficult to catch. Luckily seasons and weather are irrelevant, so any good fisherman and miner can just fish until they catch one.
It may seem difficult, but this fish is worth it if the player wants to get more gold. Ice pike are worth a whopping 500g as normal fish and around 750g when turned into gold. It is definitely worth the fight.
7. Scarecrow fish
Sometimes the best fish is not the one that costs the most, but the one that is freshest and hardest to catch or find. The scarecrow fish is available when the player takes a submarine trip to the Night Market in winter from the 15th to the 17th, so you will have to wait quite a while to get it if you miss it.
However, the scarecrow fish can be found by using the magic bait in the southwest corner of the beach from the leftmost pier when the player is fishing to the west. It's a bit tricky, but that's what makes it a great fish.
6. Lava Eel
The lava eel is pretty predictable when the player is wondering where to find it. This doesn't make it any easier though, especially when you're at mine level 100! Since the lava eel is so far in the mine, the player will have to do some work in that area, which will take a lot of time, and also get level 7 in fishing!
The standard price is 700g, so it's definitely worth it, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it takes so long to catch this rare fish.
5. Fisherman
It would be a mistake not to include the legendary fish. Not only are they very hard to come by, but they cost a lot of money. The fisherman itself costs 900g as standard, and if a player is lucky enough to get a golden fisherman, it costs up to 1350g!

4. Mutant Carp
This legendary mutated carp can only be found in the sewers, which means that the player will have to go quite far into the game before it becomes available. However, since no matter the season, time or weather, the angler can find free time and fish for this rare but valuable carp.

The Crimson Fish is one of the most expensive fish in the game, priced at 1500g in the standard set and 2250g in the gold set. However, this only indicates how difficult it is to catch.
Not only is it a tough little minnow, but it can only be found in the deep dock on the beach. This pier can be found if the player goes along the boardwalk to the east. It can only be found in summer, but the time and weather don't matter, only the player's fishing skills.

The legend, who lives up to his name, is known for being very difficult to catch. It flies at incredible speed and can only be found in spring when it rains.
