When we talk about compressors, the first software that comes to mind is WinRAR or maybe also WinZip, both are good (but paid), however if what we are looking for is a free alternative, TUGZip is the recommended program.
TUGZip is a fairly complete utility to compress and extract files in multiple formats, among those supported are: 7Z, ACE, BH, CAB, JAR, LZH, RAR, SQX, TAR, TBZ, TGZ, YZ1 and ZIP.
Its interface (in Spanish) is simple and intuitive at the same time, it is available in 3 visualization forms; Classic Style (like WinRAR), Explorer Style (Windows), and Combined Style. It also has the compression options that we usually use, such as; Add / Extract file, Open / View file, Scan with Antivirus, Delete, Comment, Repair package, Multi-extract, Create Self-extracting packages, Convert packages, Encryption. In short, all the basic functions and other exclusives.
When TUGZip is installed, the options of; Add file, Extract file, Create self-extracting package, Send package by E-mail, Open with TUGZip.
TUGZip By default it comes in English, however from the official site we can download the Spanish translation and install it easily, it works on Win95 / 98 / 98SE / Me / 2000 / NT / XP versions of Windows. Its installer file is 4 MB in size. Too bad it is not updated, in a future article we will talk about 7-Zip another similar one.
Personally TUGZip I find it more complete and functional than WinRAR, its speed has left me quite satisfied. However, the decision is up to each of you friends☺.
